Sweet Maloo Runner Up at Ascot today...

Apr 11, 2012

At just her second ever trip to the races, Sweet Maloo gave her many owners a big thrill at Ascot today when just getting caught close to the line and getting beaten a long neck!

Those that backed her at each way odds were counting the money at the furlong pole as she shot clear and looked every inch the winner-only to be gunned down in the last two strides by a 16/1 outsider who was having it's first start.

Brad Parnham rode the perfect race on the filly and it was just a case of being beaten by a better horse on the day. The writing is on the wall though for a very bright career for this daughter of Husson Lightning who was purchased as a weanling exactly 12 months ago by Belhus Racing for the princely sum of just $6,000.
