Stationed at the Werribee quarantine centre along with the majority of the other International visitors, Illustrious Blue will have a couple of easy work outs this week before a serious gallop on Saturday morning as English trainer William Knight tunes his charge up for the big two miler.
A seasoned campaigner who travels well, Illustrious Blue has won twice over the Cup journey in England this year-including the Goodwood Cup at Group 2 level, and is currently eighth in the order of entry-thus guaranteeing him a start in Australia’s richest race.
