Ascot trainer Martin Allan went to the 2021 Perth Magic Millions Yearling Sales with one main aim-to buy the full brother to his best horse Neurological, and we were very pleased to help him achieve that goal. He’s a good sized, athletic colt with correct conformation, and he looks like a chance to run as a two year old and so take maximum advantage of the Westspeed Platinum Bonus Scheme payments available.

He’s by the local stallion GINGERBREAD MAN, and what a good winner producing stallion Gingerbread Man is. A winner of 11 races including the Singapore Guineas, at stud he’s demonstrated time and time again that he can produce a quality racehorse-and that’s what we all want. Think of the Karrakatta Plate winner I’M A SINGLE MAN, the excitement machine who’s Eastern States bound-RED CAN MAN, and the quality gallopers ACHERNAR STAR, ESSENTIAL SPICE, and of course NEUROLOGICAL too, and you get an idea of the sort of quality galloper that Gingerbread Man can produce. Will this colt be another?

Looking at his pedigree on the female side, his dam has now produced two winners, the latest being Neurologic who is now a multiple winner. With every dam on his pedigree page a winner, together they’ve had 18 foals to the track for 14 winners, including amongst them, the Group 1 New Zealand 1000 Guineas winner HASAHALO, the Group 1 Toorak Handicap winner SOBER SUIT, and the Group 1 Emirates Stakes winner, TITANIC JACK. Interestingly, this colt’s dam is by Soldier’s Tale and that appealed to me too because one of the most successful mares that we’ve syndicated and raced was Khutulun, and she was also by Soldier’s Tale. She raced for us in the Grand Syndicates colours, and she won 8 races and over half a million dollars in prizemoney.

This colt’s successful pedigree backs up his athletic physique. He’s got good leg conformation, strong shoulders and hips, and big hindquarters. He strides out nicely with a confident walk and he looks every inch a runner. It’s no wonder that he was popular at the sale. We’re delighted to have secured him to race in the Belhus colours, but even more delighted to have him trained by Martin Allan.

This is a 20 share syndicate priced at $5,500 each, which includes all purchase and acquisition costs, insurance, breaking in, Westspeed Bonus Scheme Inclusion, and agistment and all other incidental costs to the end of June 2021. There’s nothing else to pay until July 1st 2021, which is the date when syndicate fees commence. The syndicate fees are set at $220 per calendar month (billed quarterly in advance) and are budgeted to include all normal and expected costs associated with racing a horse including training, agistment, farrier, transport, vet bills, incidental expenses, syndicate admin and management. Insuring your share is optional. In fact, with the exception of  possible feature race payments and interstate travel (which are bills you want because it means that you’ve got a very good horse!), there’s nothing else to pay. Brochures including all you need to know about the syndicate and the colt itself are now available on request…
