This is a nicely put together filly that some of our clients have bred themselves. She’s one of the first by the imported stallion ILLUSTRIOUS BLUE-winner of 10 races from 1200m-3200m including the Group 2 Goodwood Cup (UK).
Boasting a very strong pedigree bred on a cross of leading European milers, Illustrious Blue was a talented English miler (5 wins from 1400 1800) who could outstay his pedigree with earnings of $881,519 and a total of 10 wins from 7 furlongs to 2 miles. Winning 9 times in England (7 at Goodwood) & a first up win over 1777m at Nad Al Sheba in Dubai, Illustrious Blue was a true international performer.
Amongst his many wins was the Group 2 Goodwood Cup, the Group 3 Sagaro Stakes at Royal Ascot, the Group 3 Goodwood Glorious Stakes, & the Listed Goodwood Festival Stakes too. He was also Group 2 & Group 3 placed 3 times including the Kempton Sept Stakes & Listed placed 6 times, plus he also ran a very creditable 9th in the Melbourne Cup too!
The filly’s dam Red Geisha won 3 races for us up to 2000m and hails from a very handy New Zealand family of Stakes Winners who also excelled over a mile and beyond.
Having been bred in Victoria, she’s eligible for the Super Vobis incentive scheme, and to give her every possible chance to succeed, we’re sending her to be trained by Robbie Laing who’s repeatedly demonstrated his prowess at training winners over a distance.
In a syndicate consisting of 15 shares, the majority of owners who bred this filly are retaining their interest in her, however there are 2 shares available for private sale for $2,000 each-thereby valuing the filly at $30,000.
