Four year old Exosphere mare Main Engine kicked off her current campaign in impressive style when scoring at Albany on Sunday. It was her first run for new trainer Steve Wolfe since being transferred down to the veteran trainers’ Great Southern stables earlier this year. Ridden by Chris Nicholl, the mare was always handy in running, and made her move soon after turning for home. She always looked to have the race under control, and ended up winning by a comfortable length and three quarters. Interestingly, this mare incurred a three month ban as a result of a bleeding attack at her last run back in November last year, so it was a great result for her owners and a commendable job achieved by the new trainer. Obviously Main Engine has enjoyed her ‘sea change’, and it’s the trainers opinion that there are better races in store for her…
