Great Waters didn’t beat much in the way of opposition at Ascot on Wednesday, but after a few frustrating runs where he’s been beaten at short prices, it was a delight for his many owners to get him back into the winners circle. Given the perfect ride by jockey Mitchell Pateman, the race was just about never in doubt, and although the margin wasn’t huge, he won with something in reserve. It was his second win from just 10 starts, and if placed to advantage, there should be quite a few more to come!
