Consistent mare Key To The Mak ran to her best once again today when easily taking out the BM64 at Wangaratta. Well ridden by Dan Stackhouse, she had the race in her keeping after turning for home and really the result never looked in doubt. After a good steer, all she had to do is let down as we know she can and she did exactly that to win with a leg in the air. This has been a good training achievement by Luke Oliver as she’s got a few niggles and has provided her owners with plenty of frustration in trying to get her to the races a little sooner than she actually has. Still, with the record of 9 starts for 3 wins, 3 seconds and 1 third, her owners have been well rewarded. Racing in good heart, there’s no reason to say that she can’t go on and win a Saturday city race now!
