GREAT WATERS delighted his throng of owners when winning at Belmont Park on Wednesday! Appearing first up after a spell and having only his fifth start in a race, the Dundeel four year old went into this race without a trial, settled a little worse than midfield, and under an inspirational ride from Mitch Pateman who showed a lot of vigor in the straight and gave one a shoulder charge in an effort to get through (for which he received a 10 day suspension), he bullocked his way to the front to hold on to a narrow from the fast finishing Yamatai. There was a good, rather vocal crowd of his owners on course for the midweek meeting, and there’s little doubt that they’ll have more reason to cheer as they continue to follow the progress of their horse from now on-especially as he gets up over more distance…
