The Bivouacs are coming!
Although his oldest progeny are just 2yo’s, at the time of writing (mid March 2025), BIVOUAC has had a great start to his career as a stallion with six individual winners already, two of the being Group Two winners, and two more being metro winners!
In New Zealand, Bivouac kicked off with INTENTION winning the Group Two Wakefield Challenge Stakes. His first Australian winner was Luana Miss, an Ascot winner trained right here in Perth by Trevor Andrews, and recently we saw BEIWACHT win the Group Two Silver Slipper Stakes in February, and Cavalry Girl winning at Flemington too.
Bivouac, a son of the Champion stallion Exceed & Excel, was crowned World Champion Sprinter and Champion Three-Year-Old, amassing $5,600,000 in prize money and retiring a six-time Group winner, three of them at the elite Group One level. He’s one of the rare stallions to have won a Group 1 as a two, three, and four year old.
“Good body, good mover, good conformation” with a big tick were the comments on my catalogue page after inspecting this colt on farm at Lynward Park before the yearling sales commenced. Whilst acknowledging that he’s a November foal and so therefore not as forward as most others being presented at the sales, it’s not now I’m buying him for, it’s for when he’s three and older. November foals are often looked over by yearling buyers as they’re compared to their older, more forward barn mates, but you have to look through that, you have to allow for it, and three months quickly turns it around. Think of horses like ANAMOE, SO YOU THINK, NATURE STRIP, REGAL POWER, HARD TO THINK, PROBABEEL, VERRY ELEEGANT and FANGIRL just to name a few, and you get the idea that being a late foal is no barrier to success. Ironically, even this colt’s sire BIVOUAC, a Group 1 winner as a 2yo, 3yo and 4yo, was-you guessed it, a November foal!
This colt is out of Plumm, a stakes placed Encosta de Lago mare who at stud has had four to race for three winners, including LEVKARTE whose 9 wins have netted over $900,000, Total Power whose 5 wins have also netted over $900,000, and High Power who has won 5 races and over $200,000. His second dam Madame Plume (by Military Plume) was also stakes placed finishing second in the South Australian Oaks at Group 1 level. Interestingly, this colt is a 20/20 G1 Goldmine match (a pedigree matching system), and that occurs when a pattern has two or more Graded Stakes Winners with CSI values above 20. This indicates that this mating is excellent as there are at least two superior horses with a very similar pattern.
He’ll require a little more time to allow him to mature, but when he catches up, he’ll be a lovely horse to own, and importantly, he’s also eligible for the WESTSPEED BONUS SCHEME.
The progeny of Bivouac continue to sell well at the various 2025 yearling sales, his progeny are in plenty of the big stables on the east coast, and we’re very excited to have one in ours!
Rebel Dane x Lucky Juniper COLT
1 Year Old Bay or Brown Colt
Sire: Rebel Dane
Colour: Bay or Brown
Dam: Lucky Juniper
Sex: Colt
Age: 1
Foaled: Aug 17, 2023
Location: Ascot, WA.
Price: $3,950 per 5% share
Rebel Dane was the leading sire of 2yo’s in Australia in 2021-2022, headlined by the Group 1 Golden Slipper and Sires Produce winner FIREBURN.
From his limited career at stud, Rebel Dane has produced 29 winners from just 51 runners. His progeny have sold up to $220k. Already having two Rebel Danes on the books with Grand Syndicates in the Eastern States, we know how well the progeny of this stallion go, and we really like the two we already have, so it made great sense to have a close look at this colt at the Perth sales. A winner of the Group 1 Manikato Stakes, Rebel Dane has already thrown a Golden Slipper winner in FIREBURN amongst the 28 individual winners he’s had from just 48 to run. His progeny generally look like early running types, and this colt presented in terrific order at the sales attracting us not only with his good size and conformation, but was one of the few horses we saw at the sale that had a bit of ‘swagger’ about him, meaning a great walk, a great head carriage and plenty of presence about him!
He’s the first foal of a Zoustar mare who’s a half sister to the Group 2 winner BLUEBERRY HILL (4 wins-3 as a two year old), and he’s an August foal too, so he gives us every indication that he’ll be up and running early. For that reason, I’d suggest that he’s an ideal candidate for races such as the Magic Millions 2yo Classic, Karrakatta Plate, WA Sires Produce Stakes, etc, plus, importantly, he’s also WESTSPEED BONUS SCHEME eligible and he’s been nominated for the MAGIC MILLIONS PERTH RACE SERIES too, so he’s got plenty of bonuses to run for. He’ll be trained at Ascot by Trevor Andrews.
Un-named (A Lot - Fail Safe)
1 Year Old Bay Filly
Sire: A Lot
Colour: Bay
Dam: Fail Safe
Sex: Filly
Age: 1
Foaled: Aug 10, 2023
Location: Ascot, WA.
Price: $2990 per 5% share
We inspect hundreds of horses at a yearling sale, and quite often, the one you really should buy is the one you’re still thinking about that was 20 or so horses ago. This is that horse.
Not only that, but when I got together with Ascot trainer Dan Morton before the sale commenced, I found that she was on Dan’s short list as well my own. Had we have gone head-to-head in the auction, she would have ended up at twice the price, but Dan left me to do the bidding on her, and in my opinion, at just $30,000, she was the best value buy of the day in the Book 1 session of the 2025 Magic Millions Perth Yearling Sale.
A Lot was an outstanding racehorse, breaking the 1400m US record on turf. His progeny includes the WATC Derby winner A LOT OF GOOD MEN, the brilliant stakes winning juvenile SIR DREAMALOT and stakes performed horses Costume Party, Odinaka, Alotofbanter, and the 9-time winner Fast Flicker etc. This filly is a half sister to Megami, whose 5 wins to date include 4 on city tracks, earning her over $256,000 to date. This filly is eligible for the WESTSPEED PLATINUM BONUS SCHEME and will be paid up for the MAGIC MILLIONS PERTH RACE SERIES too. And of course, she’ll be trained at Ascot by Dan Morton who had this to say about the progeny of the stallion: “We have some of the A Lot progeny in the stable (American Escape, Net Zero, Golden Opera) already, and they’re all doing a good job for us and their connections, so I was keen to pick up another couple this year.”
It’s fair to say that there’s probably not a more inexpensive way to find your way into Dan’s stables than this filly…

A WESTSPEED PLATINUM COLT with Pedigree, Potential, and Purpose!
By the Group 1-winning stallion Awesome Rock and out of the city-winning Showcasing mare Presentatie, this striking colt comes with credentials that demand attention. Described by his trainer as “a ripper,” he’s already turning heads at every stage of his development.
Awesome Rock was a superstar on the track, his crowning moment being his dominant win in the Group 1 Emirates Stakes at Flemington during the iconic Spring Carnival of 2016. With over $2 million in prize money, three stakes wins, and the title of Australia’s highest-earning son of Fastnet Rock, his racing achievements were remarkable. Now standing at stud in Western Australia, Awesome Rock has proven his worth as a sire with classy progeny, including:
- Searchin’ Rocks: Champion sprinter with six stakes wins.
- Awesome John: Group 2 WA Derby winner.
- Own The Queen: Triple stakes-winning filly and WA Oaks winner.
- Plus, more stakes winners like Red Sun Sation and Rokanori, alongside 57+ individual winners to date from less than 100 to race!
This colt’s dam, Presentatie, was a four-time winner across New Zealand and Western Australia and hails from a family with plenty of stakes success as you can see from her pedigree page.
Presented at the 2024 Magic Millions Perth Yearling Sale by myself, Peter Morley as the breeder, he was bought back under the Belhus Racing Stables banner to syndicate and race. Since then, he’s been broken in, been given plenty time to mature, and recently completed his first educational prep during October/November. After a scheduled spell through December and January, he’ll start back in work in February with a view to getting to his first official trial. *Note that the purchase price of your share includes ALL COSTS right through to the end of March 2025, so once you’ve bought your share, there’s nothing more to pay until April 2025!
He’ll be trained at Bullsbrook by Stephanie Bakranich, one of WA’s most respected boutique trainers. With a team rarely exceeding 20 in number, Stephanie’s hands-on approach, excellent strike rate and friendly nature has gained her the respect of everyone in the racing industry, and I can guarantee you’ll love being part of her team.
A 5% share in this syndicate is $3,650 and includes all expenses associated with the horse right through to the end of March 2025!
Don’t miss the opportunity to join this exciting journey with a very promising colt!

For racing enthusiasts drawn to the power and endurance of stayers-and also the big amount of money on offer to stayers, this filly promises to captivate. She’s bred to run a journey, and we’re hoping she’ll be our Oaks filly as a three year old, developing into a Cups horse at four and beyond..
She’s by AWESOME ROCK, the Group 1 Emirates Stakes (2000m) winner at Flemington, who as well as excelling on the racetrack, is now doing it at stud too. AWESOME ROCK has produced over 50 winners, including stakes stars like SEARCHIN’ ROCKS, ROKANORI, the Derby winner AWESOME JOHN and the WA Oaks winner OWN THE QUEEN. A very versatile stallion, his progeny can sprint and stay, but importantly in this case, easily compete at Group and Listed level at 2400m.
On her dam’s side, this filly’s bloodlines are equally promising. Her dam, Deep Purple, boasts two wins over 2415m, while her grand-dam, Red Geisha, was a winner over 2000m at Moonee Valley. This filly’s ancestry traces back to hardy, high-performing stayers like Wellington Cup (3200m) winner CLUDEN CREEK. With such a depth of stamina in her pedigree, we think she’s an excellent staying prospect.
Guiding her journey to the winners’ circle in Perth will be Brock Lewthwaite. Known for his relentless energy and attention to detail, Brock brings a unique flair—an ex-pat Kiwi and former movie stunt rider! His achievements include taking Fat Roy Slim to five consecutive wins during his last campaign and capturing the Kalgoorlie trainers premiership in the 2022/23 season. Brock’s skills will give this filly the edge she needs, and with his frequent updates to owners, you’ll enjoy having your horse trained by Brock.
An Affordable Path to Racehorse Ownership
The share price is $2,730, which includes the original share purchase price of $1,980 and the syndicate fees covering the Oct-Dec quarter, already paid through the end of 2024. Why cover the syndicate fees in the price? Because it’s only fair: early investors who have been contributing since October 1st won’t pay more than those joining today. The monthly syndicate fee is a fixed price, stress-free $250 (approx $58/week), billed quarterly, and it covers all essential costs—racing, training, agistment, vet care, and syndicate management—ensuring a worry-free, enjoyable ownership experience. Whilst we only bill the fees quarterly, we pay out your share of any prizemoney on a monthly basis, so 12 times a year.
