STAYER ALERT!

For owners who like to race stayers, this filly should get your juices running!

A good quality filly who’s bred to stay all day, she’s by the proven Western Australian stallion AWESOME ROCK from a mare who’s won twice over 2400m.

A winner at the highest level himself, AWESOME ROCK excelled when taking out the Group 1 Emirates Stakes (2000m) at Flemington. Since being retired to stud, he’s gone equally as good and to date has had 90 runners for 50 individual winners including the stakes winners SEARCHIN’ ROCKS (Belgravia Stakes, WA Champion Fillies Stakes, Belmont Oaks, RJ Peters Stakes), AWESOME JOHN (Group 2 WA Derby), OWN THE QUEEN (1000 Guineas, Natasha Stakes, Group 3 WA Oaks) and ROKANORI (JC Roberts Quality). Importantly, two of those better horses have won over the classic distance (2400m).

Through every generation on her pedigree page, this filly has the stoutness required to show her best over ground. Her first dam Deep Purple only won twice, but each time over 2415m in Victoria. Her second dam Red Geisha won over 2000m at Moonee Valley, and her third dam produced five winners at stud, one of them being Gold Digger who was good enough to win in Hong Kong up to 1600m, and Bobby Benzine who won four races to 2400m here in WA. The fourth dam on her pedigree page is Dentine who also won to 1600m and at stud produced four winners, three of them stakes winners, but also an unraced mare who in turn produced six winners including the Group 1 Wellington Cup (3200m) winner CLUDEN CREEK.

This filly will be trained in Perth by Brock Lewthwaite. An ex pat Kiwi and impressively, a stunt rider in the movies, Brock is a natural horseman who has taken to racing with a shine. His biggest win to date has been the Group 3 WA Oaks with LADY CHANT. In a terrific tribute to his work ethic, he was also the leading trainer in Kalgoorlie for the 2022/23 season which was an enormous effort considering he was based in Perth, and more recently is best known as the trainer of Fat Roy Slim who at the time of writing has won his last 5 starts over distances over 2100m, 2200m (x3) and 2300m. Brock has also trained winners such as Prawns Eleven, Pearls And Prawns, Long Weekend, Starchienne, Material Witness, Torpedoman, Blazing Tycoon and Seeable.

A very likeable young man with enthusiasm for life and horses, you’ll enjoy having your horse trained by Brock Lewthwaite!
