The ever consistent Hemlock Stone notched up his sixth win at Ascot on Saturday when taking out the opening event on the card, a 66+ rated race over 2200m. In a slowly run event, the 5yo gelding gave both his owners and punters alike a few heart palpitations when he was last turning for home conceding his rivals a big start, but then the turbo button was pressed and he flew home to grab victory right on the post. He’s a progressive type for sure, and along with the six wins, he’s also had four placings from his 17 career starts to take his prizemoney tally to just over $180,000 which isn’t bad for a modest $11,000 yearling purchase. Congratulations to all his owners!
