The appropriately named ‘Wembley Stadium’ is the very first horse for our new ‘Poms In Perth’ Racing Syndicate!
A lightly raced 3yo gelding, a son of the reigning Champion sire of Australia –Zoustar, ‘Wembley’ is out of the very well related and performed Exceed and Excel mare, Witherspoon, and was a former $400,000 Magic Millions yearling!
Wembley Stadium has only had three career starts finishing 5th, 6th and 5th on the strong Victorian Provincial circuit. He recently completed his first racing preparation having last raced on January 15th, and since then, he’s made his way over to Perth where he started in work with his new trainer Ryan Hill in mid March. Whilst he’s shown his previous collection of multi zillionaire owners that he won’t be winning a feature race at Flemington or Randwick, he has shown enough to me with my 31 years experience in buying horses to suggest that he’ll be much better suited over here in WA and be competitive for a big group of more down-to-Earth owners. He’s a horse that’ll take great benefit from his three trials and three race starts (all in the one prep which was a big ask) and he’ll appreciate further time to develop & mature. He’s being offered as a sound racehorse, who’s considered capable of winning races in a provincial or regional jurisdiction and hopefully even Ascot or Belmont Park in Perth too!
