Desert Whiser was fantastic at Ascot on Saturday and had the track buzzing with her large group of owners not holding back with the celebrations! Trainer Luke Fernie did a terrific job producing Desert Whisper to win first up without a trial, but that’s something that he’s proven that he’s very good at. His trackwork videos leading into Saturday’s race were spot on saying that “She’s as good as I’ve ever had her”, and so it was proven to be. Apprentice jockey Natika Riordan was having her first ride not only on Desert Whisper but also for the stable, and she rated her mount perfectly in front leading all the way (naturally) to win by 3/4 length. Natika also celebrated her first metropolitan double on Saturday too and we were very pleased to help her along with achieving that success!
With 7 wins and 7 placings from her 20 career starts, Desert Whisper has taken her prizemoney tally to just shy of $600,000 now. Her next run should be in a similar race at Belmont Park on May 30th…
