Well it wasn’t quite the Melbourne Cup, but Accretive made 8 holidaying West Aussie owners in a little Melbourne side street TAB shop go absolutely bonkers as he flew down the outside to win at Ascot on Tuesday! Starting a close second favourite, he never gave his backers a worry as he always had the opposition covered and won like a good thing-albeit only by a length though-and covering the last 600m of the race in the fastest time too!
Part owners Toni & Ross Bettini had the pleasure of leading their Champion for the day back to the Winners Enclosure in front of a very big-and by that time of the day-veryboisterous crowd! The photo shows it all and will look terrific on their wall at home.
Ridden a treat by apprentice Jordan Mallyon, Accretive showed signs that he may be able to stretch out to a journey, so with that in mind, we’ll now look to run him next in a 2100m-2200m event in a few weeks time…
