Cheeky Charlotte continued on with her good form through the Carnarvon season by winning her second race up there, a 56+ race over 1200m on Sunday. Aided by a gun ride from Natasha Faithfull who, despite missing the start, managed to get her well positioned and ready to strike turning for home, Cheeky Charlotte always looked the winner and got the better of Star Power in a close finish. Charlotte has now had six starts on the North West track where her form reads 1,4,2,3,3,1. With her two previous wins being over 1000m, it was important that she was able to prove herself at 1200m, thereby just giving her a few more options going forward. Trainer Grahame Hammerquist is delighted with her form up there saying that she’s a very easy horse to train, and one that should also win a few more with the way she’s going at the moment. There are two more meetings at Carnarvon before the end of the season, and all being well, we’ll give her the opportunity to carry on with her consistent form!
