It’s no secret that I’m a big wrap for the progeny of the Group 2 Goodwood Cup winning stallion ILLUSTRIOUS BLUE! The ones that we’ve got are all very good types and we can’t wait until his first crop-albeit small in number-get to the races.
To give them the best opportunity to be successful, we’re placing them with some very successful trainers-and this one, a two year old gelding out of the Blackfriars mare Filly Elliot is going to Champion Victorian trainer-and as you’ll all know-trainer of the Melbourne Cup winner PRINCE OF PENZANCE, Darren Weir!
By a stallion that showed his best from 1600m to 3200m, from a staying bred mare, you’d expect that with maturity, this young horse will relish a journey.
Broken in, spelled and now back in work at the pre-trainers, he’ll be slotted into Darren Weir’s very successful training programme in the second week of December.
A small partnership comprised entirely of the breeders own the gelding, however a few 10% shares are available for $2,000 (plus gst) each thereby valuing him at $20,000 which represents all the costs to get him to this stage where he’s finally ready to go to the trainers for his first preparation.
