If you think you’ve got a standout bet for the day and would like to couple it up with multiple selections in the second leg of your double, then this is handy information. All the above units are for $1.00, but of course, your unit can be anything you like.
Think you can pick the Daily Double with four selections in each race? Well it does sound easy and will only cost you $16.00. So long as the double pays more than your stake, your in front! There is the option of “loaded betting” which means that you put more units on doubles featuring the hot favourite in either leg. For instance in our above example, you could wager 3 units on the favourite in the first leg coupled with all selections in the second leg. All other doubles remain at 1 unit. Cost-$28.00.
My favourite method of doubles betting is attemting to select the winner around the favourite. Wait until you see a favourite that in your opinion faces a hard task to win and then bet around it. This will pay good dividends if your form is accurate!
