Farnan Filly

From the family of RIPCORD comes this terrific looking filly by the Golden Slipper winning colt FARNAN. A Son of Not A Single Doubt, Farnan was the Champion 2 year old of his year courtesy of an impressive 5 wins in races such as The Todman Stakes, The Silver Slipper, The Magic Millions 2yo Classic and of course the stallion making Group 1 Golden Slipper itself. So impressive was he that Timeform rated him ‘the single most dominant Champion juvenile of the century’. He’s the epitome of a precocious speed sire, and hence his progeny have been very much in demand at the 2024 yearling sales where they are being offered for sale for the first time.

This one, a stunning brown filly stopped me in my tracks at the Inglis Classic Sale in Sydney. A wonderfully attractive filly, her good looks are complimented by her athletic physique and she looks every inch a racehorse. She’s just the second foal of a Brazen Beau mare who is a half sister to the Stakes winning Faraway Town who was good enough to win over $800,000 in prizemoney and was also Group 1 placed. Further down her pedigree we see the Group 1 winner ONLY A LADY (AJC Flight Stakes), REDWOOD FALLS who won over a million dollars, SMOKO a dynamic sprinter who won 6 races in Perth-5 of them in succession, and the Stakes winning RIPCORD who is currently one of Western Australia’s most exciting gallopers having already been Group 1 placed from less than 10 starts. It’s because of Ripcord appearing in the pedigree that I called Perth trainer Luke Fernie and asked him if he’d like to train this filly, and of course he said YES!
