A magnificent looking son of Champion stallion WRITTEN TYCOON, WRITTEN BY is best known in the West as the sire of top sprinter RIPCORD.
The Champion Colt of his generation, Written By won 6 of his first 7 starts, highlighted by his win in the Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes as a two year old. He won twice more at Group 3 level taking out both the Pago Pago Stakes and The Blue Diamond Prelude (C&G), and ran fourth in both the Golden Slipper (first colt home) and the Coolmore Stud Stakes at the elite level before being retired to stud after just 9 starts.
Standing at the famed Widden Stud in The Hunter Valley (NSW), his eldest progeny are just 3 year olds in this current season (2023-2024), and he’s already responsible for more individual winners than other high profile stallions such as JUSTIFY, HARRY ANGEL and GRUNT. He’s produced a Group 2 winner in STRAIGHT CHARGE (ATC Silver Slipper Stakes), a Group 3 winner in THE NOVELIST (BJ McLachlan stakes), and as mentioned, the dual stakes winning RIPCORD trained right here in Perth. The Written Tycoon’s have proven that they are fast, and they can run early.
This rather inexpensive filly was selected, as is usually the case, mainly on type (physique) by our genius bloodstock agent John Price from the Inglis HTBA Sale in April. She’s the first foal out of a Zoustar mare who was placed as a 2 year old. She has a strong West Australian connection, as her second dam is FANCY FEET, winner of 6 races including the Group 3 Strickland Stakes at Ascot. This is also the immediate family of the stakes placed winner of 9 Swift Siss, and the four time winner Dabang.
She’ll be trained in Perth by Stephanie Bakranich who we’re rapidly building a very good association with. Stephanie breaks her own yearlings in, and pre trains a good number of young horses for other trainers. Some of her more notable winners include Nero Dio ($635,000 in prizemoney), Playing Marika ($593,000 in prizemoney), Ghobella ($290,000 in prizemoney), Valdarena, Stryker’s Gal, Deamber etc. She’ll be giving this filly, and more importantly YOU every possible chance to get right where you want to be-IN THE WINNERS CIRCLE!
