Un-named (Profondo – Head Over Boots)

We headed across ‘the ditch’ to New Zealand and ended up buying three colts at the NZB Karaka Yearling Sale, two by the new stallion PROFONDO. One of those colts heads east to join the Grand Syndicates team and be trained by Gavin Bedggood, whilst the other heads west to join the Belhus team and be trained at Ascot by Trevor Andrews.

The Perth bound colt is a stunning black colt from the family of the Group performed KERMADEC, TRIPLE ELEGANCE and SHOREHAM. He was offered for sale by Wentwood Grange Stud, Cambridge (NZ), and was the third top priced lot of their Book 2 horses at NZ$60,000 which was the median price at the sale. With the current exchange rate very much in the favour of Aussies buying from NZ, this colt fits into the ‘bargain’ category, and will be a fantastic addition to any owners’ stable.

Being a good sized, strong and very masculine type of colt, with correct conformation and plenty of natural presence about him-which is what we seek out at yearling sales, coupled with his deep and lustrous black coat, made him an easy pick for us. Buy into this horse and you’ll feel very proud to own him on raceday!

When he arrives in Perth, he’ll be trained at Ascot by Trevor Andrews. Trevor’s been one of the most consistent and successful trainers in Perth for over three decades now and has won a host of feature races almost too numerous to name. Horses trained by Trevor have won Oaks, Derbies, Cups, and juvenile features such as The Karrakatta Plate and Magic Millions Classics. Always a pleasure to deal with, his horses are amongst the best turned out on raceday, as is he himself!

This is a 20-share syndicate with the 5% shares priced at $4,990 (a small number of 2.5% shares are available at $2,495 each). The purchase price includes the share in the horse, and all other acquisition, agistment, transport, breaking in and training costs incurred from purchase right through to the end of June 2026.
