Our 4yo gelding The Moon Day trained by yours truly has been most unlucky at his two latest starts and is due for some good fortune!
He went around at Belmont Park in mid May and was desperately unlucky not to have notched up his first win here in WA. He became fractious in the barriers, jumped sideways taking skin off his near hock, got shuffled back to last at the 600m and then was held up for a run in the straight until the 200m mark. After all that, he was just 2 1/2 lengths from the winner-beaten a mere 2/5th’s of a second!
At his most recent run, he got caught wide early and sat in the cheap seats for most of the way before giving ground. He’s very healthy, very fit and all he needs now is a little bit of luck to go his way and he could be winning at juicy each way odds…
