Star Soprano has recently made the move from the cool climes of the states Great Southern region, to the much warmer, even tropical, balmy weather right up there in the Kimberley.

Now prepared by Dan Morton, and amongst his satellite stable assembled for the Broome season, Star Soprano showed an instant liking for his new Northern surrounds as he romped away to win at his Broome debut on Saturday by an easing length and a half.

Competing against just four other opponents, he was always well positioned by jockey Chris Nicholl, and looked to have them covered just after turning for home. Chris become the third jockey to win on Star Soprano, and Dan Morton the third trainer to win with him! We’re looking forward to seeing what else he can do through the rest of the Broome season up there in Western Australia’s tropical north, as the majority of his owners continue to shiver in the cold of a Perth winter, albeit it seeming just that little bit warmer thanks to Star Soprano…
