Well, I don’t know if my dicky ticker can take much more of this! For the second consecutive day at the races, there were smiles and tears all ’round from the Belhus team as one of our horses saluted the judge.
After It’s Judgement Day won at Ascot on Saturday, The Moon Day brought up a weekend double when he led throughout to win by 3 1/2 lengths at Northam on Sunday. Although he only beat a moderate bunch, you still have to win them, and jockey Paul King went to the front and rated the horse to perfection, never even looking like the result was in doubt.
Whilst it was all high fives and hugs and kisses from those present, Karen and I did spare a thought for Graham Guilford, a long term, extremely dear client of ours who we lost to cancer earlier this year. Graham loved his involvement with racing and had shares in horses not just with us here in Perth, but in the Eastern States too. After he passed away, the share was graciously taken over in his memory by Graham’s sister Janet who lives in the UK.
Graham’s name still appears in the racebook.
So this one was for you Graham….
