Our previously unraced 4yo gelding BENNY BENZINE rewarded his owners for showing a great deal of patience by giving them a great deal of excitement when he made his debut-and won-at York in early March.
With two very solid trials and plenty of work under his belt, courtesy of trainer Lindsey Smith who turned his horse out looking like a heavy weight champion of the world, Benny Benzine led for more or less all the way and just lasted to win by a short margin in a tight finish. It was the perfect start to his racing career, and after a short break, he’ll be back in an attempt to win his way through the grades and target some of those 2200m races that are prevalent at Belmont Park through the winter racing season…
