Our incredibly gorgeous filly Covert Rose produced her best effort to date when easily accounting for her opposition to win the last race on the card at Belmont Park on Wednesday.
Courtesy of a perfect ride from jockey William Pike, Covert Rose sat fourth behind a genuine tempo, and when asked for an effort after turning for home, had all the answers to win easily by over two lengths, much to the delight of her small, but disproportionately loud group of owners who made it to the track.
It was her second win from just 7 starts, and she’s earned the right to be tried at a longer distance now, that being The Belmont Classic for 3yo’s over 2200m on July 15th.
Trained by Grant & Alana Williams, Covert Rose is another example of a good horse being purchased for not a lot of money. She was a $16,000 Magic Millions yearling, and shares in her were in the ‘under $2,000’ bracket. Congrats to those who bought in!
