Covert Rose gave top jockey William Pike the fifth leg of an impressive five timer when she took out the last race at Bunbury on Thursday. Starting first up from a spell, but with the benefit of two trials under her belt, she jumped smartly, and with only a moderate early pace, took command and led all the way to win by just over half a length under a masterful display by Pike. It was Covert Rose’s third win from just 12 starts, and on the strength of this win, it looks like there’s quite a few more in store for the well bred daughter of Dissident and Antique Rose.
Just two of the syndicate’s 20 owners made their way down to Bunbury, so a special individual mentions to Robert and Jenni for their dedication to the cause!
