Racing first up from a spell, Doowahdiddy justified her trainers confidence when taking out the lucky last race at Toodyay in late September. In what was a very good ride by jockey Jordan Turner, the mare built momentum around the home turn, balanced up, and finished powerfully in the straight to win easily. This was her second win, and they’re complemented by 9 placings from a total of just 16 starts. The win was popular with her owners who no doubt all started singing the chorus of ‘the song’, and bodes well for a successful campaign.
Ascot trainer Martin Allen was rapt with the performance, saying that she’s come back better then ever and that there looks to be more in store for her as racing returns to Ascot for the new season there.
