ELMS thrilled us all when winning at his first attempt over the jumps on the first day of the Warrnambool Carnival. Providing an almost faultless display of hurdling, Elms and the race favourite Thubian staged a two horse battle for the majority of the race with our Zabeel 7yo gaining the upper hand with two fences to go to win easily. There was a gap of 25 lengths to the third horse!
A plan comes together and what a tremendous effort by the horse.Full credit to Steve Pateman on the ride and the help he has given us in the build up to yesterdays win.The horse was suited by the slow tempo which allowed him to get into a nice rhythm with his jumping and he was pretty much fautless. He got through the ground well enough and his recovery post race was amazing. He clearly looks a natural recruit to the jumps racing circuit and we’re looking forward to more wins in his new career…
