Promising 4yo mare Ishkur has been purchased by Belhus Racing Stables and is now being trained by Stephanie Bakranich. A half sister to our well performed Hemlock Stone, from just 6 starts, she’s displayed more than her fair share of ability. During her last campaign, she was a first up winner at Pinjarra back in August beating subsequent multiple winner Antique Star. Second up, she finished runner up, also at Pinjarra beaten a half head whilst returning the second fastest last 600m of the race, and third up she finished fifth at Belmont Park in good company after racing on the worst part of the track rated a Slow 7.  At her most recent run back in September where she ran unplaced at Northam being eased out of the race, a post-race veterinary examination revealed cardiac arrhythmia which explained the below par performance. A veterinary clearance including an ECG prior to completing a satisfactory trial was ordered by the Stewards. Her previous owner placed her on the market and she was offered for sale in the Inglis Digital online auction September (late). Since then, the ECG has been done, she’s been transferred to new trainer Stephanie Bakranich, and she trialled impressively at Belmont Park on Monday November 25th gaining her veterinary clearance. She’s soon to be offered for syndication in our usual manner, in full work and ready to head to the races!
