Main Engine is a four year old mare racing in consistent form at the moment, and she delighted her 20 owners once again with a commanding win at Belmont Park on Wednesday. Given a peach of a ride by Shaun McGruddy who got her in box seat pretty easily courtesy of the inside barrier, the pair held thier line when the field fanned turning for home, and she extended in the last 200m to win by more than a length. Her record is now 3 wins and 7 placings from just 15 starts, and she hasn’t missed the money in four outings since a change of scenery, now being trained by the Albany based Steve Wolfe. Having won a class 2 and a class 3 event in this current preparation, a crack at a Saturday graduation race may now be on the cards…
