Home bred sprinter ‘Norske Code’ was only having her second trip to the races when going to Muswellbrook in early August but she sure did make an impression on racegoers when she led for more or less all the way to win by a length and a quarter in very fast time. They ran 57.44 for the 1000m journey and that broke a class record that has stood for 19 years!
Whilst she did a few things wrong on debut ending up 5 lengths from the winner, she made no mistakes from barrier 1 second up, and jockey Skye Bogenhuber rode her in a confident manner and guided her the shortest way home sticking to the rail all the way.Trainer Brett Cavanaugh has had his hands full with the rather cantankerous daughter of Magnus, and she’s proven to be quite a challenge for his team every since she was a foal. Still, she can run though and that’s what matters, and going on what she did second up, it looks like she’s got a bright future…
