Flashy chestnut Paseo Del Prado put the ‘second up syndrome’ to the sword and gave his many owners a big thrill when winning the last race of the day at Belmont Park on Saturday. Apprentice jockey ‘Smokin’ Joe Azzopardi had the gelding positioned handy all the way, and despite shifting out around the home bend, he fought on to score a narrow win in the very last stride!
The win was Paseo Del Prado’s second since arriving in Perth, and after an excellent first up run where he went down narrowly, both trainer Trevor Andrews and his syndicate of owners are looking forward to an exciting campaign which may culminate in one of the feature races at the famous Kalgoorlie Racing Round…
