Red Geisha might be getting on in age (she’s about to turn 7) but there’s no denying that she’s racing in fine form right now. She’s had three starts in this, her current campaign, and after a sound first up effort when fifth not too far from the winner, she then won over 1400m and finished 3rd last week-less than a length from the winner-each of those runs being at Belmont Park in midweek company.
She was a healthy 16/1 when she won (see photo) and so followers got a great start to this campaign!
Trainer Ivan Haggerty has the mare looking in tip top condition with he dappled and clipped coat looking superb. All being well, there’s a fillies and mares mile race at Belmont on Wednesday week which should suit her down to the ground…
