RIVERBANK FRANK won at Kalgoorlie on Sunday (June 10th) and impressed us all by jumping to the front and leading all the way!
Having just his fifth ever start in a race, he relished the drop in company and showed his rivals a clean pair of heels when apprentice jockey Joseph Azzopardi decided to take up the running soon after the start.
Although under the whip approaching the corner, the miles and miles of training through the sand hills of Muchea came to the fore, and the fittest horse in the race prevailed. In fact, despite only winning by a short margin, the jockey couldn’t pull him up after the line and Frank could have gone around again!
Riverbank Franks win was another feather in the cap of husband and wife training team Jeff and Fenella Martin who, along with their talented and dedicated staff do such a good job with the horses given to them to train…
