Cheeky Charlotte got her owners cheering at Belmont Park during the week when she stepped out and won her second race from as many starts! Once again starting from the outside barrier, she showed dazzling early speed to lead, and then defied all running down to win by a comfortable margin, but with plenty still in hand according to jockey Jade McNaught. Jade also commented that it’s been a long time since she’s ridden a horse that tries so hard, and certainly that’s evident with Cheeky Charlotte as she has the characteristic trait of pinning her ears back and running right through the line until the job’s done.
Trainer Luke Fernie has done a tremendous job with this horse as she only joined his stable early in January. A special congrats to our owners in Charlotte especially to a few in there that have been with us for many years, and it’s pleasing to see that their loyalty is being rewarded with a good horse which is of course, what everybody wants!
