Zaza Rock brought up her fifth career win at Ascot on Saturday when taking out the 66+ rated race over 2200m, thanks mainly to a perfect ride from jockey Clint Johnston-Porter. This was a big rise in class as compared to her previous win which was in the $30,000 Toodyay Cup back in September. A lovely horse to own, in addition to her 5 wins now, Zaza has also finished runner up an impressive 10 times, and Saturday’s win took her prizemoney/bonus money to over $200,000, a healthy return on her original $22,500 yearling sale purchase price, but more importantly she’s bringing a lot of fun, joy and excitement to her group of 20+ owners. Trainers Grant & Alana Williams have done an excellent job with Zaza Rock since taking over her training, and the hope is that she can win another of those 2200m races at Belmont Park through the Winters season…
