ELMS has given his new owners a quick return on their investment by winning at just his third start for us. After a couple of sighter runs over unsuitable shorter journeys, he stepped up to 1900m today on the synthetic track at Geelong and won with a leg in the air-and carrying the steadier of 60kg too!
Brad Rawiller rode the perfect race and got him home with over two lengths to spare eased down.
Purchased as an ex Lloyd Williams horse (with Belhus clients taking 60^ of him), new trainer Luke Oliver predicts that there’s much better to come for the horse as he gets up in distance. ‘The perfect journey for him is 2400m’ said Luke before the race, ‘he’ll be a definite winning chance today though, but he’ll get better over more ground’.
Spot on Luke! His Caulfield stable is having a very good run of success in recent months and you could do a lot worse than just following Luke’s runners wherever they might pop up!
