Our exasperating run of seconds continued today when Secret Salsa ventured to Geelong. Having just her second start in a race, she jumped well, led for the majority of the race, looked the winner everywhere up the straight but was nabbed in the shadows of the post to end up second beaten a half a length by the fast finishing favourite.

This mare shows a great deal of heart and trainer Luke Oliver says that she’ll more than pay her way in Melbourne. Dicky knees will prevent her from reaching her best however, but Luke remains adamant that there are more wins in store for her…
