Conatus 5yo Military Secret has given us all thrill for the second time in eight days when once again finishing fast down the outside to fill the runners up position for the second time on consecutive Saturdays.
Whilst last weeks margin was just a short head, on Saturday it was a clear length as he ran home in the second fastest last 600m of the race-only the winner returning a faster sectional.
Military Secret also ran second at Ascot on Derby Day on October 31st, so that’s 3 times he’s filled the runners up position now in his seven starts since coming to Perth. When things go right for this horse, he’s got a very fast finish on him, and Ascot trainer Trevor Andrews has the gelding, a winner of 5 races in NSW, ready for a step up to 1400m now, and that should be at Ascot on Christmas Eve…
