If you find yourself immersed in the trackside magic of horse racing as a punter on race day, why not take things up a notch and join a horse racing syndicate?

At Belhus Racing Stables, we’re passionate about showing punters that you can own a share in a racehorse for much less than you might think.

What Exactly is a Horse Racing Syndicate?

A horse racing syndicate allows up to 20 people to own a share of a racehorse for a fraction of the normal cost.

Shares in a horse are commonly divided into 5 or 10 per cent shares, with your share entitling you to a variety of perks, social functions, bragging rights amongst your friends and colleagues, and of course your share of prizemoney!

How Do You Get Involved in a Horse Racing Syndicate?

If you’re looking to join a horse racing syndicate, you can easily get involved through Belhus Racing Stables.

Shares in Belhus Racing horses start from as low as $1,100, with the majority of our horses syndicated into 5 per cent shares.

After the initial share purchase price, there’s a fixed monthly syndicate fee which covers the cost of training and caring for your horse in the best possible way. As the total costs are shared, the actual cost per shareholder is much lower than if you were to own the horse outright. You get 100% of the fun for 5% of the cost!

Benefits of Racehorse Syndications

Being a racehorse owner comes with perks and benefits above and beyond the thrill of watching your horse compete on race day.

Enjoy the Social Status and Functions

Horse ownership and social status go hand-in-hand, allowing you to rub shoulders with the who’s who of horse racing on race day.

Get frocked up or suited up to enjoy all the glitz and glamour of the trackside atmosphere, attend regular social events both on and off the racecourse and get swept up in the excitement of being a racehorse owner.

Naming Rights for the Racehorse

As a member of a new racing syndicate, you get the opportunity to suggest names for the horse.

Names of famous racehorses like Winx, Pharlap, and Makybe Diva are off the table, as are offensive names and names of any horses that have raced in the past 15 years.

So put your thinking caps on, get creative and come up with a clever name for your racehorse – wouldn’t it be great to hear the race caller calling it the winner on race day!

Share the Cost with Colleagues, Family or Friends

A young racehorse can cost anywhere between ten thousand dollars to a few million! With ongoing upkeep and maintenance of around $40,000-$60,000 per year – that’s a lot of money to be spending for just one person.

Joining a racing syndicate is a much more cost-effective way to own a racehorse, as it means that your upfront cost may be as little as $1,100, with a weekly cost of around $50 for a 5% share.

Event Day Perks

As a member of a racing syndicate with Belhus Racing Stables, you’ll enjoy free entry for yourself and a guest at most race tracks, as well as invitations to various social events throughout the year so that you can meet other syndicate members.
